Community Wealth Collaborative Participants
Community Wealth Ventures, Inc.
conducted a rigorous screening of nonprofit organizations in
the Baltimore region. The following eight organizations
were selected from the applicant pool to participate in the project.

Biotechnical
Institute of Maryland

BTI was created to fill the
growing need for qualified and specially trained lab technicians
in Maryland's rapidly expanding biotechnology industry. The
Institute also provides a community need: fostering the
development of a local, highly trained and motivated workforce.
By preparing post-high school graduates to fill entry-level
positions in biotechnology, BTI’s programs benefit the
employers, the local community and its graduates.

Bon
Secours of Maryland Foundation (BSMF)
Bon Secours
of Maryland Foundation sponsors housing and community
development initiatives in collaboration with the people of West
Baltimore. A division of the Bon Secours Health System, BSMF
adheres to the 120-year-old mission of the Sisters of Bon
Secours to improve the health of area residents through the
following: developing and managing safe, affordable housing;
providing needed community services to residents of all ages;
and initiating and supporting neighborhood development and
community-driven revitalization efforts.

Caroline
Center

Caroline
Center is a job and life skills training center supported by the
School Sisters of Notre Dame. Caroline Center helps
unemployed and underemployed women in Baltimore City find work
in careers with potential for growth and advancement, thus
creating a future full of hope for themselves and their
families. The Caroline Center Program utilizes small classes and
individual instruction, computer training, open discussions,
workshops, internships and field trips to train its members in
clerical and secretarial services, health care (GNA) services,
child care, or upholstery. These courses assist women as they
progress from readiness training through skills training, and
continue with ongoing post employment assistance.

Center for Youth Development (CCYD)

Chesapeake
Center for Youth Development provides a range of personal
development services to young people who are at-risk for initial
or repeat interaction with the juvenile justice system. CCYD’s
programs focus on helping these individuals overcome barriers to
living wholesome, productive lives by offering comprehensive
services, including job training and workforce development.
CCYD’s programs include an alternative high school, counseling
services, job training and placement, and after-school programs.

Industries of the Chesapeake is a workforce development agency
and a network of businesses whose mission is to provide career
development, employment, and related social services to assist
people with special needs.

Parks and
People Foundation

Parks and
People Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life
in Baltimore by supporting a wide range of recreational and
educational opportunities; creating and sustaining beautiful and
lively parks; and promoting a healthy, natural environment for
all. Parks and People staff members, volunteers, and community
partners have developed innovative solutions to improve the
physical, social and environmental quality of neighborhoods and
cutting-edge programs to provide enriching activities for youth.

Park Community Development Corporation (PPCDC)

Patterson
Park Community Development Corporation aims to develop and
implement strategies to retain, attract and support good
neighbors in the Patterson Park community. The organization
focuses heavily on improving the quality of housing stock buy
purchasing and renovating properties for sale or high-quality
rental, which attracts people to live in the neighborhood.

Vehicles
for Change

Vehicles for
Change helps low-income families in their quest for financial
independence by assisting those who want to help themselves. The
organization repairs donated cars in its in-house garage and
provides them at an affordable price to people who need
transportation to access higher-paying job opportunities.
