Springfield-Boston
Community Wealth Collaborative
The Springfield-Boston Community
Wealth Collaborative is a pioneering 10-month project to
assist selected Boston and Springfield-area nonprofit
organizations in developing and implementing earned income
ventures.
The
Community Wealth Collaborative is a partnership between
Community Wealth Ventures, Inc. (CWV), the FleetBoston
Financial Foundation (Bank of America), the Irene E. and George A. Davis
Foundation, and an anonymous Boston foundation.
A total of nine organizations were selected to participate in
the project. These nine
organizations benefit from:
-
Access
to experts in the fields of social enterprise and business
development.
-
A
proven methodology for selecting, planning, and launching
a social enterprise, along with assessment tools and
research support.
-
In-depth
monthly interaction and collaboration with peer nonprofit
organizations.
-
Customized
assistance from experienced consultants.
The
first round of the Collaborative
was launched in September 2003 and concluded in July 2004. A
second group of nine nonprofits will be selected during the fall of
2004, with the Collaborative running from January to October of 2005.
