Excerpt from
Learning to Build Your Organization's DNA:
"[The] tension between an organization's
potential and its current capacity is precisely why
innovation is a strategic imperative. Given
the economic recession and the variety of challenges
to organizational sustainability, innovation is a
crucial component of any organization's effort to
remain relevant, attract necessary resources, and
achieve lasting social impact."

Leading social innovation in Louisiana
- Do you currently operate a social program as a non-profit or government agency?
- Is your program innovative, accountable and entrepreneurial?
- Are you interested in obtaining cutting-edge technical assistance in order to create a greater impact and financial sustainability?
- Would you like access to state innovation grant funding?
The Louisiana Office of Social Entrepreneurship seeks high-performing nonprofit and government organizations interested in developing or growing an entrepreneurial and innovative program to address a pressing social problem. In order to assist entrepreneurial nonprofits and government agencies in Louisiana, The Office of Social Entrepreneurship has partnered with Community Wealth Ventures to launch the Louisiana Social Innovators Institute, an exciting 6-month business plan development process designed to help select Louisiana organizations create a business plan for a new or existing entrepreneurial and innovative program. These programs will use original, measurable, and sustainable methods to ultimately help the communities they serve by reducing or eliminating one or more causes of an existing social problem, therefore reducing the prevalence of the social problem. Institute participants will follow a structured approach to develop or grow pioneering programs while honing business skills, empowering them to have a lasting impact on their organization and community.
