Center for Community Wealth (CCW) is a community-driven, worker-led organization with the mission of transforming economic systems to build an economy that works for all. We seek to foster collective power by advancing community and employee ownership, leveraging the economic engines of anchor institutions, and strengthening small businesses in historically excluded communities.
Our vision is of self-determined communities, rooted in economic democracy, dignity, and joy.
CCW is guided by the values of Economic Justice, Solidarity, and Sovereignty.
Economic Justice
We create access to opportunities that lead to health and flourishing, guaranteed by equitable policies and institutions. We understand that economic justice requires addressing history and transforming systems to ensure all communities can build lasting wealth. When our policies and institutions foster equitable opportunity, all of Colorado thrives.
Solidarity
We operate in mutual accountability and deep relationships with low-income and communities of color. Our strategies are developed with and led by those most impacted by economic insecurity, ensuring solutions truly serve community needs. Through authentic partnership and shared power, we create lasting change.
Sovereignty
We promote the right of people and communities to lead healthy, economically secure lives and to define their own economic and cultural systems. Through community ownership and control of assets, we help build true economic self-determination. This foundation of community control ensures sustainable prosperity for generations to come.
